Here are a number of points to keep in mind:

1. Ketotifen is an antihistamine NOT a mast cell blocker so it will have beneficial effects, especially if histamine is released, fairly quickly.

2. Luteolin inhibits mast cells and takes about one month before you start seeing benefits.

It is best to combine luteolin with an H1-antagonist such as cetirizine or ketotifen.

3. An adult should be using at least 2 softgels, twice/day and you can transition to FibroProtek that has more luteolin {plus some uercetin) as 1-2 softgel, twice per day.

4. Children find it hard to swallow capsules, so many parents make a hole in the softgel and squeeze the content into apple sauce or honey to mask the yellow color. The dose should be one for about 20 lbs per day; however, once you squeeze the contents you lose some and the rest is likely to be partially degraded by stomach acid so you may need to double the dose.

For children that cannot swallow capsules, you can try NeuroProtek Low Phenol LIQUID that has the same amount of luteolin per 1 droppereful=1 ml (plus some quercetin) and you can deliver it under the tongue hence it becomes subingual and is absorbed directly into the bloodstream.
